Day 4--Long day

Today was our first real "school" day...we had intro lectures where we could go and listen to what the course would be about so we could make our final decision on which two classes we wanted to take. I actually switched from Irish society to take archeology because it seemed more interesting, plus we get to go on two extra field trips to the Burren, which is awesome. We were at school from 930 till about 5pm. After we were finally done we walked back home to drop off our books and eat some dinner.

There was a reception in the College Bar, but I didn't really want to go to it because it was a BEAUTIFUL RAIN FREE day outside and I wanted to walk to Galway bay. So my room mates decided to come with me instead of going to the reception and it was simply amazing. We walked to town and looked around a bit, and made the pretty longgg walk out to the bay. It was beautiful. I'm going to go back down there eventually because when we got down there the causeway to the lighthouse was closed, so I want to go back and look at that. The wind was blowing INCREDIABLY hard...it was crazy, I'm sure a small child could have taken flight. It was awesome.

After we finished taking pictures and such we walked back up to town and went and sat in a pub, The Kings Head (which has a very interesting story behind it) that was jam packed with people watching the Germany Turkey football game. It was nice.

It was already 930pm when we left the pub, and we took the bus back home and went to Dunnes before we went in for the night. Dunnes is the local grocery store/clothing/housing/everything store. It is sort of like a super walmart only with much better quality clothing, and European food.

I took a TON of pictures today...so I'll try and post a bunch...

Galway Bay

The town that surrounds Galway Bay

The Lighthouse at Galway Bay
Looking back at the city from the Bay

The Claddagh Museum, and gift shop. I didn't go in, just took the picture.

Street musicians on Shop street....there are always people playing or singing something.

Now you can't say there is no proof that I was in Ireland..me in Eyre Square.

Flags with the names of the 12 Tribes of Galway.

Me and 2 of my room mates on the bus back home.
