Today was our last day of classes, so I got up early and made the trek up to school, for class, one last time. It was history, my favorite class...and I was really bummed that it would be our last one. It was a good class, we talked about the the 1916 rising, the revolution that followed and the civil war that followed the treaty that was signed. After class Michelle, Katie and I walked home and me and Michelle stopped and got a pizza so we would actually have something to eat for lunch. Once we got home we both took naps and then got up and had some lunch and watched some TV.
The rest of the day didn't amount to a whole lot, we sat around the house some more...I had a meltdown, and then Michelle and I ordered food for dinner. Eddie Rockets. We got a little booklet of a delivery service and its a very good thing, and it only cost an extra 3.50 euro. Not a bad deal when you are sick and have no desire to walk anywhere to get food. We had burgers and chocolate milkshakes and watched Friends and the Simpsons, because those are the two shows, well, along with Seinfield, that are on ALL THE TIME!
A little while later I met up with Sarah and her dad at his hotel to have a drink and just chat. He is an awesome guy. We talked about Ireland, and a bunch of stuff, it was nice. I like talking to older people, they are interesting, and have a lot of good stories. So it was a nice night, then me and sarah took a taxi back home for a night in.
My roomie, Michelle, showing me what she would do if someone tried to break into our house...

See, she fits!!! And those spaces are really tiny, let me tell you.
July 22:Today was a really fun, and memorable day. Since it is nearing the end, that means laundry and all that stuff has to get done, so Sarah and I got up a little early, to beat the rush, and did our laundry. After that was all done Sarah headed to school for assessment and Katie and I went into town to do someone shopping. I got a bunch of stuff crossed off my list...although not as much as i would have liked to. I got two out of three of my pub shirts and a galway flag, and a few other things. I have so much stuff its unbelieveable, and I still havent gotten everything. I'm not sure how everything is going to get home, but it will all get there, somehow.
After we got back from town I tried to get all my stuff together so I could start packing, but then it was time to leave for the farewell reception, so i didn't get very far. Everyone was excited for this because of the prospect of free food..but much to our dismay there was none to be found when we arrived. We did however enjoy our two, or in my case three, free drink vouchers. The group of us girls were all pretty toasted by the time we left (oh, about 7pm at night!) But it was a good night at the college pub. We left our mark, we got a picture with our history professor who all us girls have a crush on, and we got to see people before everyone leaves.
Since there was no food at the reception we walked into town to eat McDonalds. I don't know why we went there, but it was fun. We were all laughing and messing around and just having a good time.
After we ate we headed to Taaffes but it was still early so we just sat around and talked for a couple hours, and its moments like these that I really enjoy. The band showed up and we talked to them because we were right in front of the stage, and they were cute, little, old irish men and they were so funny. They played all the songs we wanted and it was a fantastic night. A lot of the girls from my program showed up, so there was a bunch of us there, but it was nice to just go, and sit down, and hear good music again before I leave. I got a great recording of Galway Girl on video and it made me cry when I watched it this morning when I uploaded it. I'll have to post the video when I get home, because it really captures the greatness of the Irish pub. Everyone singing along, and dancing, and having a good time...it's something that is uniquely Irish, and something I am going to miss very much.
Me, Sarah, and Teagan at the College bar.
Our history professor, Laurence Marley...you wouldn't understand completely until you heard him speak...
