So one of the big things that I was looking forward to when I got to Galway was the Macnas Parade that is apart of the Galway arts festival. It is this big parade that goes through most of the city, and it has a different theme each year. I believe this year it was Apocolypto? I'm not quite sure. Let me tell you though, it was one of the most awesome parades I have ever watched. Usually in the states our parades are super boring, and I never watch them...but this one was totally different! It was like someone took some drugs and went to sleep and their mind created the things that were moving down the street.
The parade was supposed to start at 10, and I'm sure it did, but it had such a big route that it didn't get to where we were standing until a little after 11. It was FREEZING COLD! and all I could think was I was at Disneyland at Christmas time waiting for the parade...then I realized, no, its summer. It was fun though standing around with all my new friends just talking and having fun. There were these kids across from us that had put a piece of candy in the middle of the street and waited for a car to run over it and then would cheer...it was quite entertaining.
Then after we got home me and my room mates were all sitting in my room talking and then we hear this noise outside my window and were like "what is that noise?" and then we see FIREWORKS in the window of the houses across the street and we were like running around the house trying to see where we could see them from...it was fun.
Enjoy the pictures.

The parade looks like the Doodah Parade in Pasadena. Looks like fun.
